Top 5 Best Selling Japanese Products of December 2009

The year 2009 is almost over and is a memorable year for us - we launched FlutterScape this August!

We have been doing great ever since, all thanks to your continuous support.

Thank you so much for everything and we hope that next year is more fabulous one for you!

We wanted to share top 5 best selling products at FlutterScape this month and here they are:

1. Jigazo Puzzle (Wine-Red and Sepia)

Jigazo puzzle was a blockbuster.

This puzzle not only allows you to create a self-portrait puzzle with enclosed 300 pieces but also duplicates any person or even anything on Earth.

Apparently FlutterScape was the only international store retailing this puzzle and got featured on the Slashdot and Gizmodo.

The sellers, hiro and gurdianangelz, were not even prepared for this sudden order rush and still remembered that they run from stores to stores in Tokyo to collect enough boxes.

The staff (above) at Tokyu Hands Shinjuku was happy yet quite confused about these two boys buying a bulk of Jigazo puzzles lol. Anyhow, thank you everyone for purchases and hope the translated instruction was helpful.

2. Muji Lego Hole Punch

Another great idea for X'mas gift.

This product was also featured on Gizmodo, which brought many customers to FlutterScape, mostly parents who were looking for creative product ideas for their children.

One of the interesting trends that we could see was that there were many customers not only from USA but also from Europe probably because it has established its strong presence there.

3. Otamatone (White and Black)

The cutest electronic musical toy of all time. I think it is easier for me to explain to you how cute this is by showing you the youtube video below rather than listing words like a poet:

4. Final Fantasy 13 PS3 250GB Lightning Edition

We have received many pre-orders for this product since there were not so many online systems that accepts pre-orders from international customers.

Our loyal customer Kabopple shared his happy face with us - we were damn happy about this and have been really motivated to go forward and keep delivering happiness from Japan. Arigato! ^^

5. Unko-san Plush Key-chain Strap

Unko-san..... Unko is something that you drop everyday lol

UN means also Luck in Japanese and this pissed ourselves into laughter - apparently this Unko-san is a fairly that only lucky people can see! I guess we are all lucky since we could see the image above right?.... right? lol

Conclusion: Marketers in Japan are very curious to know what kind of Japanese products are popular abroad - we can conclude that popular products in Japan are more likely to be popular abroad based on the fact that all the products above were sold out everywhere (even Unko-san plush was sold out.)

Thank you for reading this post and FlutterScape team wishes the wonderful holidays and a happy new year to you ^^
